How it's made

We start with locally sourced hardwood lumber and are currently using yellow birch, hard maple, and cherry hardwood.

The rough lumber is planed and cut down to size. For our blocks we first create 1.5" square blanks that are then cut into individual blocks.

Next each block is securely clamped while our desktop mill works its magic. Each block requires 4-5 different milling tools to create the intricate detail and smooth rounded edges.

Finally each block is hand sanded before applying a protective coating. We make our own blend of locally sourced beeswax and organic flax seed oil. Not only is this food safe but it smells great.
